FarmVision

FarmVision is assisting Cooperative Resources International (CRI) in implementing the USAID funded Cooperative Development Program (CDP) in South Africa. The main focus of the project, “Enterprise Cooperative Transition,” is to assist dairy and beef cattle farming cooperatives to enter markets on a competitive footing. CRI’s goal in the CDP is to help cooperatives run more effectively. This includes training in business development and cooperative management, and assistance in networking to build business relationships with other cooperatives and with processors and government institutions. In South Africa cattle farmer cooperatives are experiencing challenges that range from lack of financial resources, lack of sufficient land, lack of skills, limited market access, entities which are not legally compliant and lack of conflict management skills.
